Approved ProviderAn Approved Provider, an eligible organization approved by an ANCC Accredited Approver after having submitted to an in-depth analysis (Eligibility Verification form) to determine its capacity to provide quality continuing education over an extended period of time. Organizations that become Approved Providers are willing to invest in continuing education for registered nurses which improve the professional practice of nursing and patient outcomes. |
Required ReportingAnnual reports required by all Approved Providers
Approved Provider Unit Annual Monitoring Report The Annual Report with Sample Activity and Activities submitted to NARS due no later than February 15th of each year. Nursing Activity Reporting System (NARS)The Nursing Activity Reporting System (NARS) was designed by ANCC to streamline and support the collection of your program and activity data. Individuals who are designated as a Primary Contact, Billing Contact and/or leader of an organization are required to use NARS. Access is with a unique login ID and password. NARS allows users to upload their activities continuously throughout the year OR use the batch upload function to add or update multiple activity records from a single file containing data that has been exported from another tracking system.

First Time Approved Provider Applicants
In order to become an approved provider of continuing nursing education programs your facility must put on 3 individual continuing nursing education programs that have been approved by Connecticut Nurses' Association or other ANCC accredited approvers. The programs have to be prepared, approved and implemented within the last 12 (twelve) months before the submission of the approved provider application. An Eligibility Form must be submitted with a list of all your individual activities provided within the last 12 months. (click on title to download document) Current Approved Provider ApplicantsRenewal applications for current Approved Providers must be received in the CNA office at least 12 weeks before the expiration of the current approval. If a renewal application is received less than 8 weeks before expiration, the Approved Provider must request an extension in writing. The fee for extension is $500 per month. Contact the CNA office at education@ctnurses.org regarding an extension. An Eligibility Form must be submitted with a list of all your individual activities provided within the last 12 months. (click on title to download document) Note: Approved Providers must promote/market/advertise more than 1/2 (half) their learning activities to nurses within the states of Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont and its contiguous states.
