Nursing policy and practice issues may have a legislative solution. There are also legislative proposals that impact nurses, the nursing profession and the health of the public. It is a nurses' ethical responsibility to participate in the legislative and advocacy arena, to be a voice for nurses, our patients and the healthcare system.
